When starting a new health regime such as one based on ancient Vedic principles, Ayurvedic meal plans can really help. Otherwise it can be hard to work out how to eat all six Ayurvedic tastes.
Our Ayurvedic meal plans take the worry out of cooking. You don’t have to research recipes online and scroll through all the waffle abut what motivated or inspired them, their life story and so on.
We give you the basic steps. We measure out all the ingredients for you. This makes it quicker for you to assemble your meals. And we carefully work out everything you need to get the best nutrition for that day. For example, it is very important to make sure your meals contain enough protein so that you will have the energy to get through your day.
Having prepared Ayurvedic meal plans also means you won’t make any mistakes. For example, we make sure you don’t eat fruit or cheese at night, which Ayurveda says disturbs the digestion. We also don’t have you cooking with honey which is an Ayurvedic taboo.
Our meal plans help you to sync more closely with nature’s rhythms. Our largest meals are at lunch when your digestive fires are at their strongest – which is in turn is when the sun’s rays are at their strongest. “As above, so below.” Or as it says in the Vedic Upanishads, “Yatha pinde, tatha Brahmande“, which means: “As is the atom, so is the universe. As is the microcosm, so is the macrocosm.”
Eating a lighter meal at night also makes sense. You aren’t exercising as much at night, so you don’t get to burn up the calories. If you eat a lot at night, it just turns to fat, helps you gain weight and creates “ama” – the Ayurvedic word for undigested toxins. Having a lot of ama in the body can lead to accumulative long term negative health consequences.
